A safe space for an actor to discover strengths and weaknesses through physical and emotional exploration with a myriad of exercises, techniques and scene study. This class offers the actor the confidence to utilize those instincts in an honest, authentic portrayal of the character. All skill levels are welcome, from beginner to advanced.
Attire: Comfortable athletic attire or athleisure, closed-toed tennis shoes, or jazz shoes
Emily Mixon is the founder of Mixon Magic Performing Arts and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theater from The Boston Conservatory. Emily Mixon is the founder of Mixon Magic Performing Arts and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theater from The Boston Conservatory. After returning to Pensacola in 2007, Emily began working in Northwest Florida and beyond as a director, choreographer, performer, and artistic visionary in the field of theatre. Before establishing Mixon Magic, she taught and choreographed acting and performance for a variety of ages at the Pensacola Children's Chorus, Ballet Pensacola, the Pensacola Opera, and Pensacola State College. Emily also served as a theater and dance instructor at Escambia High School and was an adjunct professor in the Theater Department at the University of West Florida. At Mixon Magic, she created a unique brand of teaching that is child-focused and helps build confidence, charisma, and character in young performers!

Joe Nierle holds a Master of Theatre Arts Degree from Penn State University and studied acting at prestigious institutions in New York, including Circle in the Square Theater, Herbert Burghof Studios, and The Actors Playhouse. He has extensive experience in professional, educational, and community theatres, where he has worked as a direct
Joe Nierle holds a Master of Theatre Arts Degree from Penn State University and studied acting at prestigious institutions in New York, including Circle in the Square Theater, Herbert Burghof Studios, and The Actors Playhouse. He has extensive experience in professional, educational, and community theatres, where he has worked as a director, actor, and playwright. Notably, six of his former students have gone on to perform on Broadway in shows such as Wicked, Mamma Mia, Jekyll and Hyde, Grease, and The Band’s Visit. Joe also acted for two seasons at Le Petit Theater in New Orleans. In the local theatre scene, he directed three productions for Pensacola Little Theatre and showcased his acting skills in three additional PLT performances. The plays he has written were presented in New York at The Abingdon Theater, Manhattan Rep, and The Duplex.

Meg is an actress, director, producer, acting teacher, dialect coach, voice-over artist, and radio personality. Her career in performance is rooted in theatre and includes dozens of national TV commercials, print ads, soap opera and television appearances, as well as voice-overs for an animated series and a morning radio show co-host. She
Meg is an actress, director, producer, acting teacher, dialect coach, voice-over artist, and radio personality. Her career in performance is rooted in theatre and includes dozens of national TV commercials, print ads, soap opera and television appearances, as well as voice-overs for an animated series and a morning radio show co-host. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Radio-TV-Film and also attended the Circle in the Square Theatre School. Meg worked in NYC for 15 years (SAG-AFTRA-AEA), where she studied with notable instructors like Terry Schreiber and Michael Kahn. She taught Advanced On-camera Technique at the Weist-Barron School in New York and Acting Technique at The Studio Actors and Camera Workshop, which is sponsored by the Filmstiftung Nordrhein-Westfalen in Germany. In Florida, she has showcased her talent on stage at the Kaleidoscope and Martin Theatres, Loblolly Theatre Co, and The Pensacola Little Theatre (where she served as Executive Director from 2013 to 2015). Additionally, she performed at the 2018 International Tennessee Williams' Playwright Festival in Provincetown, MA.
